The Tempest 5, 1.

We are a group of international artists, actors, dancers, musicians and film makers, from four different countries, who, united by a common love of theatre in general and Shakespeare in particular, use experimental means to liberate the energy in Shakespearean poetry.
To do this, we use German translations as well as the Elizabethan English of the original.
The aim of the Ensemble is to bring both native Enslish speakers and speakers of German into the same theatre to share a common bond - a love of Shakespeare, a love of their own language and a love of how both languages convey the passions of human existence in the poetic universe of Shakespeare's work.

The content of our work is both aesthetic and educational, in that it brings people together to share an artistic experience, as well as enabling them to enjoy this shared experience in two different languages.
In the global village that the modern world has become, we feel that this inter-cultural exchange is of particular importance.
The Ensemble is, in effect, an Anglo German friendship society that reaches out to the community of Berlin in particular, and to the rest of the German speaking world in general, through the works of the greatest dramatic poet that the world has ever seen.
